Vincent SCHALCK
Chairman of the Board of Directors
I thank the Board of Directors for the honor bestowed upon me by appointing me Chairman of the Board and Non-Executive Chairman of NSC Group, after having had the privilege of serving on the Board since 2020.
I am also delighted to be working with the new CEO of the NSC Group, Eric Ottmann. He joined the Group in 2022 and, as CEO of the Fibre to Yarn division since 2023, has brilliantly completed the integration of the Guebwiller and Novara sites.
Today, the seventh-generation NSC Group has all the necessary assets to continue its growth and meet the expectations of its current and future customers:
• stable shareholders,
• a sound financial position,
• dedicated sales and technical teams,
• a global sales presence,
• a reputation for quality, reliability, and market leadership.
The NSC Group, founded in 1810 by Nicolas Schlumberger, remains firmly rooted in Alsace, in the heart of the Florival Valley in Guebwiller.
From its inception, the company has grown thanks to a strategy based on innovation, patents—the first of which was filed in 1843—and the continuous improvement of its equipment. This dynamic approach has enabled it to rapidly expand its business and embark on a gradual internationalization: first in Europe during the 20th century, then beyond Europe, following the geographical evolution of the textile industry towards emerging countries. Today, the majority of the group’s business is conducted internationally, confirming NSC as a major player in its sector worldwide.
This expertise has allowed NSC to diversify into other markets. Since 1999, the group has included Monomatic, a specialist in non-stop unwinding and rewinding equipment. This integration has given Monomatic the means to accelerate its technological development and commercial expansion, first in Europe and then internationally, and we intend to continue along this path.
From the 2000s onward, NSC Fibre to Yarn’s textile business underwent significant evolution. The machines, previously primarily mechanical, were progressively equipped with:
• advanced automation with digital control,
• optimized energy efficiency solutions,
• servomotors improving fiber quality,
• artificial intelligence tools facilitating decision-making for line operators.
With Éric, we aim to maintain the innovative momentum and entrepreneurial spirit instilled by its founder. Both the technical and sales teams are committed to preserving and strengthening a unique expertise, the result of two centuries of innovation and a deep understanding of the needs of manufacturers working with long fibers of animal, plant, or synthetic origin.
We have already upgraded our equipment to reduce energy consumption, limit waste, and optimize the quality of the fibers produced. We wish to continue these efforts to support our customers in reducing their environmental impact and contribute, on our scale, to the preservation of our environment.
